There are many various ways of creating paper pleating but today I am going to show you how to create my style of Vintage Paper pleating. This a fabulous technique that creates folds and pleats using paper and making them look similar to pleated fabric or lace. I created a card with the paper pleating on the bottom of this card.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\">Here is my card that I created using this month\u2019s<span class=\"c7\">\u00a0<\/span> \u201cBetsy\u2019s Couture\u201d paper collection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\">As you can see on the bottom of the card, I created two rows of paper pleating.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\">Here is a step by step on how to create these pleats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kaisercraft.com.au%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F02%2FP1080142.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54591\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kaisercraft.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1080142.jpg\" alt=\" TT adriana photo 1\" width=\"500\" height=\"340\" \/><\/a><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\">Step 1.. Cut several strips of paper, 3cm thick x 30 cm long. Place the strips of paper in a container of cold water for a few seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kaisercraft.com.au%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F02%2FP1080144.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54592\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kaisercraft.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1080144.jpg\" alt=\"TT - betsy card- adriana bolzon\" width=\"500\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/span>Step 2 Take the strips out of the water and scrunch them with your hands, gently, as they could break easily.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\">Step 3 Dry the strips of paper with a heat tool, or you can place them in a microwave, on a paper towel for about 55 seconds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><span class=\"c5\" lang=\"EN-US\"><a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kaisercraft.com.au%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F02%2FP1080148.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54593\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kaisercraft.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1080148.jpg\" alt=\"TT betsy card- adriana bolzon\" width=\"500\" height=\"301\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Step 4 Pleat each strip, making valley and mountain folds, as shown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal c6\"><a href=\"http:\/\/redirect.viglink.com?key=11fe087258b6fc0532a5ccfc924805c0&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kaisercraft.com.au%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F02%2FP1080151.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54594\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kaisercraft.com.au\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/P1080151.jpg\" alt=\"TT betsy card- adriana bolzon\" width=\"500\" height=\"382\" \/><\/a>Step 5 Adhere some double sided tape on the back of the pleats, this will secure the pleats in place.
