Hey there, EP fans! Aly Dosdall<\/a>\u00a0here again. When I got my hands on the beautiful new Our Family Mini Theme<\/a>\u00a0I knew I wanted to make a family themed piece of d\u00e9cor that I could display in my home and enjoy. I always smile when I\u2019m reminded of my family, and that\u2019s what I was hoping to do with this project.<\/p>\n

I had an extra embroidery hoop leftover from another project stashed in my craft room so I decided to use it as a frame for a recent family photo and create an altered embroidery hoop. My hoop is 6\u201d in diameter, so I started by cutting a 7\u201d circle from the Our Family Houses paper.<\/p>\n

Then I opened the embroidery hoop and pulled out the smaller piece. I centered it on the back side of the circle I cut, traced around it, and then created tabs by cutting small slits around the circle from the outside to the traced line about every \u00be\u201d. I placed some double sided tape around the outside of the smaller hoop and then wrapped the tabs around the edge of the hoop pressing the paper into the tape to secure it. I placed the larger hoop over the smaller one, and screwed it closed tightly.<\/p>\n

I embellished my hoop with a heart patterned journaling card, some die cuts, some banner strips, washi tape, enamel dots, and some accent stickers. I love the extra dimension and flare that the designer products add. I embossed the red title strip, die cut a tag, and die cut the word \u201cforever\u201d for my title as well. I included a black and white family photo\u2014I love how the black and white color gives the photo a more ethereal feel.<\/p>\n

And yes, it makes me smile when I see our family photo on this project every time I pass it. Thanks for letting me share this project with you today!<\/p>\n
