I’m sharing a unique way to use PH background paper to create embellishments for a layout. Take a look at how I used various sizes of circles to add great movement and dimension to the page. The muted colors in the Generations Paper Pad are more commonly seen with vintage/heritage photos, but look how I was able to incorporate the old fashioned paper line with a modern family photo. I think you will agree, this has made a fantastic layout full of fun and energy, while it is grounded in a natural color palette.

Products Used:

Paper House Generations Paper Pad
Paper House Woodland Cork’d™ Stickers
Paper House Nature SnapShots™ Sticker
Paper House Family Canvas Art Sticker

Directions:

1. Choose two identical papers and one coordinating paper to use as the background for this double page layout. Add a strip of paper down the side to match the background of the first page. Fussy cut the old-fashioned camera and attach it to the lower left corner. Cut two complementary paper strips, make a diagonal tear along the edge of one end of both strips, and place horizontally along the lower edge, going across both pages to bring cohesion to the layout. I was able to use a portion of paper with a phrase to create my title.

3. Next, use multiple sizes of circle punches to cut circles from the meadow landscape paper. Position circles on the layout so that blue ones are in the upper third of the page to mimic the sky. Green ones should go in the lower third to mimic the grass, and place the multi-colored circles in the middle third of the page to mimic their natural counterparts. To build depth and texture, remember to place some circle embellishments under photos and some overlapping photos.
(Tip: To add interest, be sure to include some circles going off the page.)

4.
