The Star Student collection was perfect to document my daughter’s end of school year party. I visited her for a “Read to me Tea” where we listened to the students read and shared snacks. I was able to get some photos of her and her friends and wanted to document how much fun she had in kindergarten this year. I started with four 2″ square photos and arranged them in a grid with some patterned paper cut down to 2″ squares. I embellished with chipboard and stickers from the collection, as well as sequins. For my journaling, I used my computer with a fun typewriter font. Love the way it turned out!<\/p>\n

I love using themed collections for a reason other than their intended purpose.\u00a0For this layout I decided to make my favorite paper from the Star Student collection (\u201cGeek Chic\u201d) the focus of the layout.\u00a0I used watercolors and gelatos to add a bit of color to the normally black & white\u00a0pattern and I also decided to add in a pop of pink. I love the end result – a fun, colorful layout that highlights the awesome photos of my niece!<\/p>\n

This project I made of red and yellow paper, as for me it’s the main colors of the Star Student collection. And of course I used a lot of stars! Fortunately I have wonderful star dies for by Big Shot. They are absolutely multipurpose, and I use it in almost every project. The sentiment is also motivating. I found it on the Treasures and Text sheet. I created many layers of paper and embellishments on this card. When I finished my project I found the yellow paper layer a little bit empty so I added the imitation of the hand stitching on the edge using the black pen.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe World Is Yours\u201d card, by Julia Akinina<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This collection includes lots of colors, so I picked out a few favorites, blue and turquoise, and created a card using only them. This is kind of motivating card which says “The world is yours”. I cut this sentiment from the Daily Details paper. I added some stars from sticker sheet and also I cut some of them with my big shot machine.\u00a0Golden glittered decorative tape became a good final accent. I am so in love with this card!<\/p>\n
