\u201cBridge To High School\u201d, by Lisa Dickinson<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Star Student collection was perfect for documenting these not-so-great shots of my son at his eight grade graduation ceremony. Since most of the photos I captured were a bit blurry due to the poor lightning and my distance from the stage, I decided to distract from them with lots of color from the patterned papers. After selecting seven different patterns, I cut arrow shapes and layered them horizontally across the page. I love the sense of motion and energy they give to the page, and they also help reinforce my page theme of growth and momentum. After adhering my arrows, I positioned the three photos vertically on the left edge and typed a block of journaling in the upper right corner. Then I added lots of small embellishments to the arrows, layering color-coordinated elements in various spots. The chipboard shapes, enamel dots and stickers help add texture and interest to my design and another layer of bold color.\u00a0So the next time you have less than perfect photos, try adding in some bright and bold colors. There lots of great b-sides in the Star Student collection papers that can add a big dose of energy to a page!<\/p>\n

I wanted to add the typewriter transparency to my page but wanted it to be showcased more than just an overlay. I added a white piece of cardstock underneath it, sewed the edges and love that it stands out like its own piece of paper!\u00a0I added enamel dots and a few splats of glimmer glaze to add more of an “artsy” feel to the page.<\/p>\n

It’s graduation time again, which means I need quite a few cards to send to family and friends!\u00a0I needed a masculine grad card, so left off all of the cute embellishments I normally love to add to my cards!\u00a0I chose a couple of panels from the Daily Details sheet from the Star Student collection.\u00a0I stitched on a coordinating sticker tag from the Star Student Trinkets sheet.<\/p>\n

I created a tall and skinny card, especially so I could show off three different patterned papers!\u00a0I chose three of my favorite patterns from the Star Student collection and then stitched them together.\u00a0I layered on kraft circles and then added the focal images, using both stickers and chipboard pieces.\u00a0For embellishment, I added Enamel Dots and Enamel DooDads in Oreo Black.<\/p>\n
