National Take A Hike Day could not be a better day for this family. This is what we did all summer. And we didn’t stop just because the fall season arrived. Nope. We took off during those early autumnal days too. Walking these trails with the change of season is a most inspiring experience. I have documented these moments often. They are meaningful explore times for me and my kiddos.<\/p>\n

Jamie<\/a> here and I am very excited to share this layout with you today. A large 8×10 image of my littlest running free on a local trail is the focus of this layout.<\/p>\n

I defaulted once again to die cut leaves and feathers. Creating with die cuts makes it super easy to use seasonal themes when embellishing a story. I love how easy it is to cut iconic images to fit any season of the year. This is a go-to technique that I utilize over and over again.<\/p>\n

\nBut what I really had a lot of fun with was several of the cute little booklets of Bella Blvd Washi Stickers.<\/p>\n

\nStarting with a white cardstock background, washi tape plays the role of creating a focal point on my page. Once washi was laid down, I just did my thing and layered over the strips and stickers. Super easy to add color and pattern to a page with washi stickers. I love how they are a bit transluscent and add a great bit of dimension to a page.<\/p>\n

The large photo was edited on my phone. I purposely added a color leak to give a bit more of a fall-vintage feel. Once that was printed, I used those hues to direct what colors I would embellish on this page.<\/p>\n

\nSo here’s the challenge: start your embellishments with strips of washi stickers. Lay various lengths and strips on the background and even over the photo.<\/p>\n

And be sure to tell your story of the those things that are of so much importance to you and your family. Tell your story. Add color. And enjoy those memories in days to come.<\/p>\n
