Good day everyone! Tegan here and today I am showing off the gorgeous The Story of Our Family collection! I love this collection for it’s rich color palette and cozy feeling. I also love that this collection can be used for lots of different family activities! I can see it being used to document a special family trip or just hanging out on the couch watching football. Today I am sharing the mini album I made using The Story of Our Family to hold my favorite family snapshots! And the coordinating embellishments- brads, chipboard stickers, decorative tape, enamel dots, and ephemera- really help make this mini album extra special!
First of all, I LOVE the dimension that the brads and chipboard accents add to the cover! And as soon as I saw the “Family is Forever” ephemera piece, I knew I wanted it to be on the cover- even before I had decided what size and shape my mini album would be. And then it hit me- How fun would it be to make my entire mini album in a similar fun label shape?!? And wouldn’t you know, Echo Park offers a perfectly coordinating Label Die Set in the Silhouette store! I first used the middle label die shape to cut my 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ base pages from Carta Bella cardstock. I then cut pages from patterned paper and stitched solid 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ paper squares in the middle of these. I then adhered my patterned paper pages onto the cardstock ones to make sturdier pages.
The chipboard accents pack includes some great sentiment stickers and cute images like this house! And how can you not love that decorative owl tape?!
My favorite chipboard accent piece is definitely the multi-color arrow! The ephemera pieces are great for decorating and using as page embellishments. The number of great pieces in the ephemera pack made it easy to quickly decorate my album. I love the dimension that the brads add as well!
The brads pack includes a great combination of brads- like this super cute phone! And one can never have too many enamel dots. They are the perfect subtle accent piece! And since this collection has so many fabulous colors in it, I was able
to leave most of my photos in color.
I easily finished off my last two pages with more chipboard accents, fun large brads, and an ephemera piece. How cool is that teal chipboard tree! Creating this mini album with all of these coordinating embellishments wasn’t only easy, it was lots of fun!
Thanks for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to have fun with embellishments on your next mini album or project!
