Heritage scrapbooking is a great way to learn about your family and teach your children all about their ancestors. If you have people in your family that played sports this can be even more fun when creating a heritage scrapbook.
Finding pictures of these people might be a challenge, but it can be done if you know where to look. If you or any of your family members don’t have pictures in an attic or storage room, you may need to go to the library to find them. You will need to look at the microfish to find them.
Another option is to go to the Internet and search there for your family. Of course you will need to know names and other details to find them. You might also look at www.myheritage.com for photos and other information that will help you find what you are looking for.
Once you find these sports related photos you can start creating your scrapbook. You have a few options when it comes to the pages you create. You can use sheets that are related to the sport these people played in or you can use sheets that are old looking and represent the era they came from.
Use specialty scissors to help you design sheets to go right under the pictures to make them stand out just a little bit more. Also use fancy lettering at the top to list the person’s name and maybe how they are related to you. Use stickers with the ball used in the game or other related items to help decorate the page.
Heritage scrapbooks are fun to make and help you develop a way for you to keep track of your family from years gone by. The older people in your family would love looking through these types of scrapbooks and may love to have them as gives as well.
