If your son is in the Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts, you may find them preparing for the Pinewood Derby Races. This is a fun and exciting time for them because they get to use their hands to create a car made of wood.
When your son decides to participate in the race, his scout leader will help him make a car that will meet all of the requirements. There are 12 rules just for the car along. They have to do with the weight, size, and supplies for the car, so you’ll need to make sure you follow the instructions given to you so your son’s car is not disqualified before he begins.
Make sure you keep all the papers you’re given so you can include those in your scrapbook. These may include information on what to buy, when your son will make is car, and where the race will be held.
Take pictures of the supplies when you purchase them. This will give you an idea of what his car looked like before he put it together. You’d be amazed with the transformation you see throughout the process. If your child brings the car home after each meeting, take a picture of it so you can include each phase in your scrapbook.
You’ll want to bring your camera to the race as well. Take pictures of the boys waiting for their turn. You can also take pictures during the races, but you need to remember these go fast so you may not get the perfect shot unless you have a camera with the ability to snap one after the other.
Creating a scrapbook full of pictures and information about your son’s Pinewood Derby Race is perfect for memories. Boys grow up so fast and a scrapbook like this will help you remember his childhood years.
