Adventure Awaits Scrapbook Page by Rhonda
I am excited to share with you my project for today featuring the Take A Hike collection along with some mixed media accents. To begin, I gave my light beige “Campfire” paper a light coat of our White Gesso. It virtually disappears if you use a light hand. This allows your Glimmer Spray to move and blend instead of soaking immediately into your paper.
Next, I determined the placement for my photo and chosen embellishments, then marked lightly with a pencil to the corners so I could stamp and ink accordingly.
I added Silver Glitter Paste to the background using the “Oh My Stars” Stickable Stencil. Then, I grabbed my Glimmer Sprays and started creating a few ink splatters. Once done, I misted very lightly with a few spritzes of water and set it aside to dry.
This is one of my favorite toddler photos of our youngest son. He tossed his hat off of his head and took off on a little walk at Grandpa’s farm. I wanted to accent the hat gently, so I used the Layered Chipboard titled “Wander”. I feel it draws your eye to the hat where without that embellishment, it disappeared into the photo.
What are your favorite mixed media supplies? Are there techniques you would like to see more examples of? We would love to know.
